Biography
Jenna is one of the few remaining vampires left in Nosgoth, and is credited for being the very first vampire to be born before the sterility curse reached the vampires in the Arithanid Realm. Beautiful inside and out, Jenna is the only female vampire that has managed to stay alive.
Origins
Jenna, born Jenna Desirae Kelly, was born to a vampire mother and a human father in the Arithanid Realm sometime in February. Upon her birth, it was discovered that she had already developed her first Dark Gift: Shapeshifting. At only 3 weeks old, Jenna was able to shift into a beautiful purple wolf pup. As she grew, Jenna acquired more Dark Gifts such as Telekinesis and Bloodgout.
When Jenna turned 5 years old, her father mysteriously disappeared from her life. She was led to believe that he had been killed, but being only a child, Jenna didn't quite grasp the concept of what death really was. Her mother, who had a tendency to be quite irritable towards her daughter, refused to accept the fact that she was only half vampire, so once her daughter reached the age of 13, she was given over to Kain, the self proclaimed vampire king in Nosgoth.
Kain disliked the idea of having a child to look after, but it was said that her mother had certain ties to Kain himself, and once Jenna turned 18, it was he that awakened her vampiric self by changing her into a vampire. Jenna rarely saw her mother after changing, but there was really no time for her to worry for her mother as she was already expected to serve her vampiric lord.
Jenna proved to be a promising fledgling, but she had a terrible tendency to disappear from Sanctuary for days on end, possibly because she missed her life in the Arithanid Realm. Having been confronted by Kain about this, Jenna went on to tell him that she was feeling a sort of change come over her little by little each day. Kain, though bitter about this, took Jenna back to Sanctuary where she entered her first state of change and acquiring a new gift: her shapeshifting side had been fully awakened.
Whether Kain cared about this or not, he refused to show it, but he was interested to see that Jenna could shift into a large purple wolf that had the ability to drink the blood of others. However, he was not the only person to notice this; Mesalx, the King of the Salx, was in need of a guardian over his deadly labyrinth, the Shadow Realm. He took Jenna away from Nosgoth against Kain's wishes and forced Jenna to take on her wolf form and to remain in it until he saw fit to let her shift back to her vampiric self.
Jenna was allowed to leave the Shadow Realm for 300 years at a time, but she was always expected to return after that period of time. It was while Jenna was back in Nosgoth that she met the first of Kain's six lieutenants; Raziel. After her meeting with him, Jenna began to call Raziel her friend, and later her brother. This bond, however, began to deepen as Jenna began to fall in love with the handsome vampire.
Kain made it clear to Jenna that she was not to tie herself to Raziel, but it did little to keep her away from him. She was often caught watching Raziel from the shadows and was once found with one of the tattered banners from Raziel's clan. This resulted in Kain giving her a severe beating, but even then, Jenna vowed that she would have Raziel as her own one day.
Her love ended in trajedy when Raziel was cast into the abyss for having been gifted with a pair of bat like wings. Jenna, who had gone back to the Shadow Realm to serve Mesalx, was shocked to see that only 5 lieutenants remained and that Turel, Kain's second lieutenant, had taken her Raziel's place. Jenna showed no expression at the time, but when she was alone, she allowed her tears to fall on the understanding shoulder of her friend Julie, who was more of a mother than a friend to her.
Jenna left Nosgoth one final time to serve out her remaining 300 years with Mesalx not long after losing Raziel, but when she did return, Jenna vowed that one day she would avenge her only love's death, even if it meant killing Kain.
Personality
Jenna is quite possibly the most kind natured of the characters in A Rose Among Thorns. She is kind, ambitious, spunky, cheerful and sometimes quite mischievious. But don't be fulled by her down to earth nature; Jenna also has a fiery nature that tends to come out when she is angered or if she hears Raziel's name being profaned.
Loyal and trustworthy to her friends, Jenna gives off a sort of 'sister' nature; she often times will worry about Julie and will quite often be heard asking if everyone is alright.

Being a vampire, Jenna has similiar abilities to Julie and Mesalx which are, but not limited to the following:
