Summary
A Rose Among Thorns is actually a fanfiction by Tamika Hampton which features the Legacy of Kain series. The story begins with Julie Dashara, a young Water Arithanid searching for her mother's murderer in Nosgoth. But while in the Sarafan Stronghold, Julie meets up with a very unlikely aquaintance. After a brief face off with Sarafan soldiers, Julie manages to escape, but not without injury. She is found by Vorador and taken to his mansion to heal. From there, the reader is taken on a whirlwind of events with vivid descriptions of characters, fights, and even new places.
Together with her new love and companions, Julie must push aside her coldness to aid in ending a genocide of vampires as well as prevent the killing of her own people.

-A Rose Among Thorns was originally titled The Dark Prophecy.
-This is the first of two fanfictions for the story. The author admits that one fanfiction would be simply too long to fill everything in.
-The story contains a few spoilers to the games for those that have not played them, but it also serves to fill in some blanks between each game.
-Julie was originally planned to be paired with Kain, but being a big fan of LOK, the author decided that Julie would be a better match for Vorador.
-Julie's father is named once in the prologue. Originally, it was planned to NOT appear in the fanfic.
-One of the characters, Jenna Kelly, is actually the name of one of the author's old schoolmates.
